On Thursday, June 22, Northwind Reading Series features Tidepools 2017, Peninsula College's art, literature, and music magazine. The group reading starts at 7 p.m. in Northwind Arts Center, 701 Water St.
Tidepools Magazine, a publishing venue for Peninsula artists, writers, and musicians, will bring this year's issue to Port Townsend. The magazine is designed around the creative work of local residents: from youth to students, and from hobbyists to professional artists and musicians. This showcase for local talent is produced at Peninsula College, publishes one issue a year, has won two recent statewide awards for best literary magazine, and is run by media and English student co-editors in a magazine publishing course. Writers will read, artists will discuss their work, and musicians will perform a song from the new CD. Copies of the magazine will be available at the event.
Northwind is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that sponsors visual, musical and literary art events and education on the Olympic Peninsula. www.northwindarts.org
Suggested donation for the readings is $5.00. All proceeds will support Northwind Arts Center. For more information contact Bill Mawhinney 360-302-1159.
