Kayaking in Port Townsend
Port Townsend and the waters around the Olympic Peninsula and the San Juan Islands provide some of the most spectacular sea kayaking in the nation. Admiralty Inlet and Port Townsend Bay at the head of Puget Sound have many miles of shoreline to explore and enjoy.
Kayak tours available daily during the summer, with opportunities to see wildlife along a guided trip. Rentals are available for experienced sea kayakers. The water is a great way to see Port Townsend, Fort Worden, Old Fort Townsend and Marrowstone Island, but that's only a start!

Passes of the Northwest
You'll need a NW Forest Pass to recreate at any of the Olympic Peninsula area water trailheads. Which pass you need depends on how long you'll be staying or how often you'll making trips, but you can figure that out here. These work in Washington and Oregon. The Washington and Oregon Recreation Pass is the full deal for all places, including USDA Forest Service, National Park, Bureau of Land Management, Corp of Engineer and WA & OR State Parks. Daily passes are between $2 and $10. All passes are available to purchase online or at local stores like Sport Townsend and Swain's General Store. |
