No Car Travel

How to get to or from SeaTac Airport or Seattle without driving. Although there are no direct routes, there are many ways!

Options

Option 1 - SeaTac - Bainbridge Ferry - Port Townsend
You can take a taxi (about $28) or Shuttle Express (206) 622-1424 from Sea-Tac Int'l Airport and get directly dropped at the Ferry Terminal-Colman Dock to go to Winslow on Bainbridge Island.

Or you can take Metro Transit Bus Routes 174 or 194, ($1.25) but you do not go directly to the Ferry Terminal, although it does get you to downtown Seattle bus terminal, you walk 6 blocks to the ferry terminal. Ask the driver where to get off.

Then travel across the Puget Sound from Seattle to Bainbridge Island on a Washington State Ferry (about $7). See WSDOT Ferry Fares for current rates.

Use Kitsap Transit bus #90 from the ferry terminal on Bainbridge Island to Poulsbo. Transfer to Jefferson Transit to get from Poulsbo to Port Townsend on bus #7. See Public Transportation.

Option 2 - Independent Bus Sea Tac - Port Townsend
Rocket Transportation offers door to door AIRPORT SHUTTLE service by reservation to and from SeaTac for Clallam and Jefferson Counties. With service available to Hospitals and Hotels in Seattle, Tacoma, Bremerton (limited service), Silverdale (limited service) and Cruise Ships. They accept Visa and Mastercard. Option 3 - Independent Bus Sea Tac - Port Townsend
Olympic Bus Lines has daily bus service between Seattle and Port Townsend, Kingston, Edmonds, Sea Tac Airport, Seattle hospitals, Greyhound and Amtrak. (360) 417-0700 or (800) 457-4492.

Port Townsend to Sea Tac trip costs $49 one way and $79 round trip. Rates between Port Townsend and Greyhound or Amtrak are $39 one way and $69 round trip. See Public Transportation.

Option 4 - Public Bus/Overnight Stay - Port Townsend - SeaTac
Jefferson Transit and Coast Gateway Hotel. Allows option of using public transit to arrive at the airport the day before a flight, spend the night at the Coast Gateway, and then get to the airport on time the day of their flight with complementary shuttle service 24/7 between the airport and the hotel.

Option 5 - Independent Bus Sea Tac - Silverdale
Bremerton-Kitsap Airporter. Hourly service that goes from the Airport to the Silverdale Hotel by the Bay. Fares start at $19 to or from SeaTac. (360) 876-1737 or (800) 562-7948. Reservations necessary.

From there use the Kitsap Transit to Poulsbo then Jefferson Transit from Poulsbo to PT. See Public Transportation.

Option 6 - Arrive by Air
Flying from Sea-Tac Int'l Airport to Jefferson Airport on a chartered flight from Goodwin Aviation or one of the other air charters at the Airport. From there taxi or rent a car to get to Port Townsend. See Air Travel.
Option 7 - Ride your Bike
Riding your bike takes about 3-4 hours from the Bainbridge terminal to downtown Port Townsend. Only for experienced riders or touring cyclists. Take Highway 305 to Highway 3 North. Then west on Highway 104 - Use extreme caution on the Hood Canal Bridge. Go north on Highway 19 to Chimacum and then continue north to Highway 20 and into PT.
Option 8 - Arrive by Boat
A few pleasant hours spent cruising up to PT will put you in the perfect frame of mind. Unless there's a special ferry though, you'll have to use your own boat!
Option 9 - Arrive by train in Seattle or Edmonds, then Bus
Arriving by train in Seattle involves a short taxi ride to the Bainbridge ferry terminal to meet with the ferry to Bainbridge. Need to bus from there so see Option 1. If arriving by train in Edmonds, just walk from the train station to the Kingston ferry, pay the west-bound fare and hop aboard. Kitsap Transit Route #92 bus service from there brings you to the Poulsbo Transfer Station where you need to connect with Jefferson Transit Route #7 to PT. See Public Transportation.
Option 10 - Walk
Yes, it may take about 12 hours, but you'll be unique and see scenery no one else would at a higher speed...
