Gallery Walks are a favorite here in Port Townsend. Occuring the first Saturday of every month, galleries and venues in the downtown waterfront district show off the work of local artists. Informal and enticing, the Gallery Walks encourage exploring the many nooks and crannies of the town's historic center. The walks are sponsored by the many galleries and venues, and a consortium of artists. A truly unique happening and all you do is show up downtown and start walking!

Port Townsend Shorts, presented by the Port Townsend Arts Commission, are monthly readings of short stories. Talented local actors read aloud from selected works every Gallery Walk Saturday at 7:30 p.m., in the Pope Marine Park Building next to City Dock. Local artworks on display, free admission! (donations are accepted).

ART ROUTE: A self-guided tour of art studios in Port Townsend and Jefferson County. Each of the 22 artists featured in the brochure represents a unique type of visual art. The brochure includes a map, a brief description of the art, artist, phone, and address is available at the Northwind Art Center, the Visitor's Center, hotels, B&B's, many other stores.
